Laboratory for Climate Studies (LCS), key laboratory of China Meteorological Administration, was found in December 1994. LCS is orientated to study the facts, processes, mechanism, prediction and impact assessment of climate variability and climate change. In recent years, LCS has established a high degree and capable research team composed of young and energetic scientists, employed some national and international noted scientists as visiting researchers with open and cooperative management system. LCS has obtained a lot of great research achievements and played an important role in many key national and international climate research projects, field experiments and support to the development of climate services. LCS has been recognized as one of the most influential academic centers and educational bases both in China and overseas, providing powerful support to the modernization of meteorological services, development of national social-economy and global climate change and environmental issues. |
